Caruso, A Voice for Eternity
One of the world’s most celebrated tenors, Roberto Alagna, will perform in Lithuania for the first time. On March 25, he will take the stage at Compensa Concert Hall in Vilnius with “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” – an emotional musical production about the legendary Enrico Caruso: his life, love, ambition, jealousy, and the voice that changed the history of opera.
“Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” is neither a traditional opera concert nor a conventional biography. Historical fact intertwines with fiction, transforming Caruso’s life into a theatrical drama filled with unexpected plot twists, vivid characters, and an extraordinarily diverse musical score – from opera and Italian song to blues, rock, metal, and electronic music.
Roberto Alagna, who takes on the leading role of Enrico Caruso, says: “There is so much emotion in this production, because the story itself is incredibly moving.”
Tickets for “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” go on general sale on October 5 at 10:00 via BILIETAI.LT.

The story takes audiences to the final years of Enrico Caruso’s life and to early 20th-century America – a world of immigration, social inequality, organised crime, and struggles for influence. One of the central storylines explores Caruso’s relationship with Giulio Gatti-Casazza, then general manager of the Metropolitan Opera. What begins as admiration and friendship gradually gives way to jealousy and rivalry. Alagna compares their story to that of Salieri and Mozart.
Roberto Alagna – nearly four decades on the world’s greatest stages
For nearly four decades, Roberto Alagna has performed at the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Paris Opera, New York’s Metropolitan Opera, London’s Royal Opera House, Milan’s La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, and Deutsche Oper Berlin. His repertoire includes more than 60 roles, from Rodolfo in “La Bohème” and Don José in “Carmen” to Otello, Calaf in “Turandot”, and Lohengrin.
Alagna’s artistry extends far beyond opera. His work brings together classical, popular, and traditional music, while his discography encompasses opera recordings, French chanson, and Italian and Neapolitan songs. Millions of his recordings have been sold worldwide. His connection with Enrico Caruso is not new either: one of Alagna’s most recent albums, “Caruso 1873”, is dedicated to the legendary Italian tenor.
Roberto Alagna created “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” together with French composer, guitarist, and arranger Jean-Félix Lalanne, the production’s co-author, composer, and orchestrator. Throughout his career, Lalanne has written music for film and theatre as well as concert and symphonic works, and has collaborated with artists including Bonnie Tyler, John McLaughlin, and Chet Atkins.
This is not Lalanne’s first collaboration with Alagna. He previously created “Al Capone”, a musical written especially for the tenor and presented at Paris’s legendary Folies Bergère in 2023. Their latest collaboration, “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity”, premiered in September 2026.
The first performances of “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” in France sold out. French daily Le Dauphiné Libéré praised Roberto Alagna’s vocal power, the strength of the cast, and the production’s unexpected plot twists.
On March 25, Lithuanian audiences will experience “Caruso. A Voice for Eternity” at Compensa Concert Hall in Vilnius – bringing together music, theatre, the story of Enrico Caruso, and the extraordinary voice and talent of Roberto Alagna. Tickets: BILIETAI.LT.
